Drone Operations
Live Drone – 31st December
Live aerial filming at Dublin Castle for live broadcasting, we would like to inform you of the details of this activity.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The drone flight will take place over Dubh Linn Garden on the 31st / 1st of December. Weather permitting, the operations will take place from approximately 6.00pm to 12:30am.
DRONE RISK
The primary concern is the potential for accidents or malfunctions that could lead to the drone falling from the sky, potentially causing harm to individuals below. This risk includes the possibility of injuries from propellers, the weight of the drone, or other associated components. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times in this area. To mitigate these risks, we implement strict safety guidelines, proper training, risk assessments, and compliance with regulatory requirements when conducting drone operations in proximity to people.
DATA PROTECTION
At UpShot, we prioritise data protection and privacy while conducting drone filming for our live TV broadcasts. We recognize that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to any processing of personal data, and in the case of live TV drone filming where no personal data is being processed, we adhere to the following practices to ensure GDPR compliance:
Data Minimization
We do not intentionally capture or process personal data during our drone filming operations. Our primary focus is on capturing the scenes and events relevant to our broadcasts.
No Facial Recognition or Identification
We do not employ facial recognition technology or any means of identifying individuals in the footage.
No Audio Recording
We do not record audio during drone filming to avoid capturing conversations or other forms of personal data.
Live Broadcasting
Our drone footage is used exclusively for live TV broadcasts and is not stored or processed for any other purpose.
Limited Retention
We do not retain the drone footage beyond what is necessary for the live broadcast. Once the broadcast is complete, any recorded footage is securely deleted to minimize data retention.
Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
While not required for our specific operations, we have conducted a DPIA to assess and confirm that no personal data is being processed and that our practices align with GDPR principles.
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
We have appointed a Data Protection Officer who oversees all data-related matters, ensures GDPR compliance, and is available for any inquiries regarding data protection.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect the drone footage from unauthorized access, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of the data.
Regular Compliance Review
We regularly review and update our practices to align with GDPR requirements and any changes in regulations.
